Reception Class (8 Months – 3 Years)
Our Reception Class provides a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young learners begin their educational journey. At this stage, children are introduced to the fundamentals of learning through play, songs, activities, and guided instruction.
Pupils learn:
- Alphabet recognition and letter formation
- Number recognition and counting skills
- Two-letter words and early phonics
- Pencil control and handwriting readiness
- Social interaction and communication skills
This class lays the foundation for confidence, independence, and a lifelong love for learning.
Nursery One (Ages 3 – 4 Years)
Nursery One builds upon the strong foundation established in Reception Class. Pupils develop greater independence in their academic and personal growth while expanding their literacy and numeracy skills.
Pupils learn:
- Writing numbers 1–100 from memory
- Reading and spelling two-letter and three-letter words
- Basic sentence formation
- Personal and social development
- Good health habits and personal hygiene
- Moral values and positive social behaviour
The focus is on developing confidence, responsibility, and readiness for higher learning.
Nursery Two (Ages 4 – 5 Years)
Nursery Two prepares pupils for more advanced learning by strengthening their reading, writing, and comprehension skills. Learners become more independent and confident in expressing themselves academically.
Pupils learn:
- Writing independently with proper letter formation
- Reading longer sentences and short passages
- Spelling three-letter and four-letter words from memory
- Basic mathematics and problem-solving skills
- Creative expression and critical thinking
- Effective communication skills
This stage equips pupils with the academic readiness required for Transition Class.
Transition Class (Ages 5 – 6 Years)
Transition Class serves as the bridge between Nursery and Primary education. It introduces pupils to a broader curriculum while developing the maturity and discipline needed for primary school success.
Pupils are introduced to:
- Quantitative Reasoning
- Verbal Reasoning
- Basic Science and Technology
- Agricultural Science
- Physical and Health Education (PHE)
- English Studies
- Mathematics
- Civic and Moral Education
At this stage, pupils begin working at a level similar to Basic One, ensuring a smooth transition into primary education.
Basic One (Ages 6 – 7 Years)
Basic One strengthens the knowledge acquired in Transition Class and introduces pupils to more advanced concepts. Our curriculum challenges learners while ensuring they remain confident and engaged.
Focus areas include:
- Reading fluency and comprehension
- Creative and formal writing
- Mathematics and problem-solving
- Scientific inquiry and discovery
- Social studies and civic responsibility
Pupils are encouraged to think independently and develop strong study habits.
Basic Two (Ages 7 – 8 Years)
Basic Two expands pupils’ academic abilities and encourages greater independence in learning. Learners develop stronger analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Key areas include:
- Advanced reading and comprehension
- Creative writing and grammar
- Mathematical reasoning
- Science and technology concepts
- Leadership and teamwork skills
This class prepares pupils for more challenging academic tasks in upper primary.
Basic Three (Ages 8 – 9 Years)
Basic Three focuses on deepening understanding across all subject areas while encouraging critical thinking and creativity.
Pupils develop:
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Research and project work abilities
- Effective communication skills
- Independent learning habits
- Confidence in classroom participation
Learners are guided to take greater ownership of their academic progress.
Basic Four (Ages 9 – 10 Years)
Basic Four prepares pupils for the academic demands of upper primary education. Greater emphasis is placed on analytical thinking, examination techniques, and subject mastery.
Pupils engage in:
- Advanced comprehension and composition
- Higher-level mathematics
- Scientific investigations
- Practical problem-solving
- Leadership and responsibility development
The goal is to build well-rounded learners who are academically and morally sound.
Basic Five (Ages 10 – 11 Years)
Basic Five is the final preparatory stage before Common Entrance examinations and transition into secondary education. Pupils receive intensive academic preparation while developing confidence and independence.
Focus areas include:
- Common Entrance preparation
- Advanced English and Mathematics
- Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning
- Science and Technology
- Study and examination skills
- Leadership and character development
By the end of Basic Five, pupils are well-prepared academically, socially, and emotionally for a successful transition to secondary school.
Junior Secondary School One (JSS 1)
JSS 1 marks the beginning of secondary education. Students are introduced to a broader curriculum that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and academic discipline. They build upon the knowledge acquired in primary school while developing confidence and independence in learning.
Junior Secondary School Two (JSS 2)
JSS 2 strengthens students’ understanding of core subjects and encourages analytical thinking. At this stage, students begin to explore career interests while developing problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Junior Secondary School Three (JSS 3)
JSS 3 is a crucial preparatory class for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Students receive intensive academic training and guidance to ensure a smooth transition into senior secondary education.
Senior Secondary School One (SSS 1)
SSS 1 introduces students to specialized learning pathways based on their strengths and career aspirations. Students are guided toward academic excellence while building strong foundations for external examinations and future careers.
Senior Secondary School Two (SSS 2)
SSS 2 focuses on deeper subject mastery and advanced learning. Students engage in intensive academic work, practical experiences, and career-oriented studies that prepare them for tertiary education and professional success.
Senior Secondary School Three (SSS 3)
SSS 3 is the final stage of secondary education. Students undergo thorough preparation for WAEC, NECO, JAMB, and other external examinations. The focus is on academic excellence, character development, leadership, and readiness for higher education and life beyond secondary school.
